The Map Room

The Map Room houses Amelia’s extraordinary collection of over 40,000 maps, dating from as early as 1850. Ranging from detailed street maps to world atlases, the collection offers a rich range of colour - from the subtle tones of early lithographs to the more vibrant palettes of later prints.

Amelia begins each of her map artworks by meticulously finding the right locations and each map piece is selected for its colour and detail. The vast collection of maps enables Amelia to create unique compositions, weaving colour and movement throughout each piece.

The interplay of colours, history and locations gives every artwork a layered depth. They invite you to find your own story - offering a chance to connect through a small detail, a familiar place, or a memory that holds personal meaning.
